Born in Khabarovsk Russia, Ivan Koumaev immigrated to the United States in 1996 to Seattle, Washington where he discovered the love of music and dance at the age of 13. By 16, he was ready to move to Los Angeles and pursue a career in live art and production. Ivan’s first professional gig was a Nike industrial almost upon arrival in LA. From there he went on to be a top six finalist on the second season of So You Think You Can Dance with whom he toured immediately following the episodic season.

Shortly thereafter, and after a brief residency in New York, Ivan worked with an array of pop artist, such as Chris Brown, Usher, Justin Bieber, Ne-Yo, and most notably Justin Timberlake, who he had the pleasure of touring the world with twice, several music videos, and one of the highest commercial dance honors – a Super Bowl halftime show performance. Ivan has appeared in multiple feature films such as Rock Of Ages, Footloose, Trolls 1, 2 and 3 and Step Up 3-D along with a handful of commercials, including Pepsi, Nike and Remy Martin. His award show performances include Oscars, Grammys, VMAs, BETs, BRIT Awards, and Emmys.

Currently, Ivan continues to stay active in the commercial dance scene as a dancer’s however has shifted focus to choreography and direction working with artist such as Khalid, Big Time Rush and once again, Justin Timberlake. His time away from the professional scene is filled with travels around the world teaching kids of all ages at events, workshops and conventions.
